Nataliya Angelova, a programmer in IT Department took part in a four-week specialization - from 18th November till 18th December 2007 - in our partner libraries in USA: the Public Library in Ames, Iowa and the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library in Topeka, Kansas. She also visited a few libraries in Denver, Colorado as a part of ABLE project – Bulgarian Library Exchange: Creating Gateways for Global Understanding and Community Information Services, administared by the US State Department.
A training workshop on the subject: “Application of Mobile Information Technology in the Area of Education and Libraries” a part of AITMES project was held in Leno, Italy. The participants presented the most interesting cultural and historical landmarks of their town published on the web site of the project.
Natalia Angelova (IT department) made a presentation about the workshop on the same topic held in Varna, Bulgaria earlier this year.
Daniela Kaneva-Ilieva, head of the Loan Dept. and Reading Rooms, took part in a seminar on a subject : ”The electronic resources in libraries” in Paris. The seminar was held within the programme Courants 2005, which is administared by Maison de Culture du Monde – a structural unit of the Ministry of Culture of France.
Emil Demirev from the Reference and Bibliographic Dept. took part in the 4th International Conference of the Association of Polish librarians in Zakopane, Poland. He presented the Bulgarian experience on the subject of "Community Information Center (CIC) - the daily grind projection"
Boika Todorova – a head of the German Reading Room, visited Bucharest to take part in a seminar organized by Goethe Institute - Munich, Germany, related to the project: “German Reading-Rooms in Eastern Europe”.
Galina Doicheva, a head of “Indexing and Cataloging” Dept., took part in a specialization in Public library in Eims, Iowa, USA, as a part of ABLE project– Bulgarian Library Exchange: Creating Gateways for Global Understanding and Community Information Services, administrated by the US State Department.

Emiliya Milkova – Library Managing Director, and Radka Kalcheva – head of “IT” Dept., took part in an international visitors program “Information management and Library Science”, which was administrated by the US State Department.
The program is an information travel in the USA, consisting of visits, meetings and discussions on the designated problems.
Boyka Todorova - Head of the German Reading Room, took part in a seminar for elaboration of abilities for searching in the Internet, which was organized by Goethe Institute and was held in Munich.
Emiliya Milkova - Library Managing Director, took part in an international conference on problems of “Multicultural community and the part of the libraries” in Gera, Germany. Mrs. Milkova presented the Bulgarian experience on the subject:
“The languages and the library work. The part of the libraries in multicultural community”
Daniela Ilieva - Chief Librarian, won a competition for a participation in "Courants-Sejour Culture" program, which is organized by Maison des Culture du Monde (Centre for World culture to Ministry of Culture of France).
