PLAN - WHAT DID YOU SET OUT TO DO?
LL4S
  Summary/ Description of Activity
Senior volunteers help with different activities to prepare half a million items to move in a new building. All the items (books, newspapers and other library material) have to be fitted with new labels and wrapped - this is the work which volunteers do. They also help in a procedure of writing off the stock, they arrange books on the shelves and they do the repair work on damaged books.
  Learning objectives:
This work is very important for socializing the seniors, because all the time they work in a team. They also become more familiar with books and newspapers which encourages them to read more in their spare time. They are also invited in a reading group and they are well informed about the events in library.

  Evaluation of the Learning Objectives
Learning objectives are achieved in all parts, specially the socialization of the volunteers. They enjoy the team work very much. Their activity in all day life increased, specially communication. Their interest for reading and joining the library events has grown up, they became friends and they meet in their spare time.
  Evaluation of the activity
The activity has overcome the expectations of the staff, because the volunteers make a big contribution to library work. It is very important that every volunteer has his own tutor, so the staff is always prepared to give the instructions for work and to supervise the team work.
Evaluation of what was learned by the participants
The participants learned how the library functions and what actions are necessary for the good library work. They also learned about new and old books. They improved their technical skills. They could learn about some other activities in library.
Evaluation of what staff have learned
The staff learned how to work with volunteers and to respect their volunteer work. They learned some skills which volunteers knew from their previous work. They also learned how to help in socializing senior and unemployed people.
