EVALUATION OF ACTIVITY
  Evaluation of the Learning Objectives
The participants were able to sign up for the Myguide email address even though they were beginners. Only some of them wanted to sign up far an additional email address as they felt that one was sufficient.
  Evaluation of the activity
Very relaxed and friendly session. Participants were very keen and eager to get an email address as they wanted to be in contact with their families who live in Australia. The website is a bit complicated at the beginning for complete beginners – so it is felt that it is best to have a member of staff sitting with them during the sign-up process. Make sure that data confidentiality is maintained.
Evaluation of what was learned by the participants
The participants learned how to set up an email account. How to send an email. How to retrieve an email from the inbox.
Evaluation of what staff have learned
It is necessary to find out the level of IT competence of the participant before the session starts. Those with little or no experience need basic skills such as mouse and keyboard skills. Those users with better skills or more experience are better able to sign up for 2 email addresses.

ANALYSIS OF EVALUATION
What would you change to improve activity?
Have an initial session to determine levels of ability . this could be done through a simple question and answer session.
What particular circumstance could affect a change in the activity?
UKonline is a UK organisation that provides a simple email account with online training. Other European partners will need to find a suitably simple email provider from their participants.
  Other possible Activities
  Sending attachments.
  Best practice
Yes – very effective for library users as it is informal and relaxed. Very good user feedback.
